OKLAHOMA CITY — Nashville-based artist and Edmond, Oklahoma, native Bryce Merritt will return home in support of the release of his latest EP, CHROMA: III, and a full-band performance at one of the city’s hottest music venues.
Merritt takes the stage Nov. 3 at Tower Theatre, 425 NW 23rd, with the fiery rock ‘n’ roll trio, KALO, fronted by powerhouse Israeli guitarist and Oklahoma City resident, Bat-Or Kalo. Buy tickets here.
CHROMA: III is the third installment of Merritt’s color-coded CHROMA series, which debuted in 2016. Songs on CHROMA: III were recorded in June at Nashville’s storied Sound Emporium studios and feature memorable melodies showcasing Merritt’s wide vocal range, layers of intertwining harmonies and sparkling guitar licks. Their creative production blurs the line between vulnerable singer-songwriter and infectious radio pop.
CHROMA: III will be released worldwide on download and streaming sites Oct. 26.
“CHROMA: III is red, and I hope you feel the whole spectrum of that color as you listen to this music,” said Merritt. “From cool convertibles, to sugary sweets, to romantic reverie — I hope you feel it intertwined throughout the music in different ways.”
“I’m excited to share an evening at Tower with Bryce in support of his incredible latest album,” said Kalo. “We know it will be a night of celebration and we want all lovers of local and independent music to come and support.”
More about KALO
Sexy guitar. Infectious rhythms. Smoky vocals. Musically, KALO’s sound is like the rich water of the Lower Mississippi River, carrying with it so many pieces as it flows, its parts are hard to distinguish. Part blues, Americana, R&B, jazz and rock, KALO’s sound is electric, genre bending and infectious. KALO has been compared to the White Stripes meets an edgy Diana Krall with a splash of John Lee Hooker and a tease of Elvis. The band is based in Oklahoma by way of Israel and Texas.
